I know my email blasts can be better. I know I need to do a better job of engaging our email list with more relevant content and less event promotion. But each week when it’s time to come up with the content, the easy way out always wins: just put up details about upcoming events, and DONE. Email campaigns have been one area that I just don’t seem to plan very well (and believe me, everything else in my marketing campaigns is planned out in lovely, detailed spreadsheets.)

So when I came upon this article recently from Marketing Profs, I took notice. Julia McCoy of Express Writers provides 20 Email Marketing Tips to Boost Engagement and Readership, my favorite tips are:

#6 – Use Numbers and Statistics (after all, I am a data geek)
#10 – Learn From Others (I call this ‘creatively borrowing’ ideas from others)
