It’s no secret that many of us in the industry have been pushing organizations to list the salary range when advertising a job. This week, New York City has passed a law that employers must include the salary range in a job posting beginning in April 2022.

The bill, which passed on Wednesday in a 41 to 7 vote, says employers failing to list minimum and maximum salary ranges for New York City-based roles are engaging in discriminatory practices.

I encourage you to read all the details in this recent article on Inc.com.

Additionally, in the past couple of years, the hashtag #ShowTheSalary has continued to trend on Twitter urging companies in all industries to list salary ranges.

Clearly, this movement is growing and I hope that we will see listing salary ranges become more common in our industry.
